Clinical Internship in Child, Adolescent & Family Psychology
This Pre-doctoral Internship Program is accredited by the American Psychological Association through the Office of Program Consultation and Accreditation, 750 First Street, N.E., Washington, DC 20002-4242, (202) 336-5500. Six pre-doctoral Interns are accepted each year for a twelve-month training experience which is half experiential and half didactic in nature. The experiential part focuses on the goals of obtaining competency in thorough psychological evaluations and psychotherapy to include at least two modalities. The didactic aspect includes opportunities for training in teaching, consultation, administration, supervision, writing of clinical cases, and applied research pilot studies.
In addition to the Pre-doctoral Interns, approximately ten to twelve Practicum Students are chosen in September or January for a one year training experience. These students are at the Pre-master level in areas such as Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Mental Health Counseling.
