Program Overview

Our violence prevention programs focus on reducing violence and delinquency in our community by working with children, youth, and families who are at-risk of anti-social behavior. These programs include primary prevention efforts to educate and assist families who are seeking information and resources through our Youth Gang Resource Center, as well as a series of intensive, family based intervention programs that focus on reducing delinquent behaviors by strengthening the family unit, reducing risk factors for violence and delinquency, and reinforcing protective factors. The programs range from a focus on entire communities that are at high risk due to poverty and other factors, as well as intensive work with youth who have been arrested and are at increased risk for future delinquent behavior. ICFH has become a pioneer in the area of violence and delinquency prevention in our community, by implementing six separate programs found to be effective by the Department of Justice and other scientific and law enforcement organizations. We have been a key player in helping to reduce the overall juvenile crime rate in Miami-Dade County over the past decade, and have helped thousands of youth and their families follow a more pro-social and productive life path.
