CJC Gang Prevention/Intervention

This program serves as the liaison between the Dade Miami Criminal Justice Council and the local gang initiatives. The program coordinates local stakeholders' efforts in the prevention and control of gang operations in the community. The coordinator conducts focus groups and participates as an active member in meetings and committees related to this area. The program coordinates an annual Youth Gang Summit that serves as a forum for integrating service providers and governmental entities. The purpose of this event is to provide information regarding youth gangs to the community at large, and to help foster collaborations among all relevant community resources in order to enhance youth gang prevention and control efforts in Miami-Dade County.
