Functional Family Therapy (FFT) Program
Year Program Began: 2001
Program Description:
Functional Family Therapy (FFT) is a structured, short-term strength-based family intervention model. The goal of FFT is to provide families with the essential skills needed to improve family functioning using improved communication skills, effective parenting techniques and problem-solving skills. Additional skills taught include, but are not limited to negotiation skills, coping skills and violence prevention.
Eligibility Criteria and Location of Services:
Children and Adolescents ages 11-18 with emotional and/or behavioral challenges and their families and are experiencing challenges with family functioning, communication and/or problem solving. Families must reside in Miami-Dade County.
