Re-accreditation of ICFH Demonstrates Fiscal and Management Integrity

MIAMI–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The Institute for Child & Family Health (ICFH) has just received notification that the organization has been re-accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA). COA accreditation affirms that an organization meets the highest national standards of best practice and establishes the organization’s credibility as effective and professionally sound and that it has met rigorous national standards for financial and management integrity.

“The members of our Board of Directors were extremely supportive of our participation in the re-accreditation process,” said Dr. Juan C. Gonzalez, CEO of ICFH. “When the process was completed, it reaffirmed that our organization had the management and financial controls in place to make sure that we remain true to our mission of service to the community.”

Recent studies by the U.S. General Accounting Office and COA researchers found that COA-accredited agencies enjoy significant benefits over non-accredited agencies. The COA report found that accredited agencies had superior risk management, personnel evaluation and corrective action processes in place.

“COA re-accreditation affirms that an organization meets the highest national standards of best practices,” said Dr. Gonzalez. “Our COA re-accreditation reflects the fact that we have the very best management practices in place.” Additionally, ICFH was expedited through the Pre-Commission Review Report (PCR) process as a result of not receiving any out of compliance ratings in any of the fundamental practice standards.

ICFH was re-accredited by COA in April following a 12-month accreditation process and review by a team of peer professionals.
