Volunteer with the Institute for the Child & Family Health
Work on Behalf of Others
Volunteering is the practice of people working on behalf of others without being motivated by financial or material gain. Volunteering is generally considered an altruistic activity, intended to promote good or improve human quality of life. People also volunteer to gain skills without requiring an employer’s financial investment.
Strengthen and Improve your Community
People volunteer for many reasons, one of the most common reasons that people volunteer is to strengthen and improve their community and various charitable organizations. The desire to give gift of time is always appreciated. Volunteering can be reading a book to a child or helping to prepare for special events. We have plenty of ways for you to volunteer. When you volunteer is can be for an hour, a day, or on an on-going basis.
Share your Talents and Make a Difference
According to the US Department of Labor 61.8 million people volunteered in 2008. That equals to 26.4% of our population. Are you putting your special talents and skills to work in our community? When you volunteer you not only learn or develop new skills but you teach those skills to others. You will have the opportunity to network, meet new people, gain work experience and the opportunity to enhance your resume. Most importantly you have the opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life.
Why should you volunteer with the Institute for Child & Family Health?
